UDIKAssociation for Social Studies and Communications (UDIK) from Sarajevo, strongly condemns the media attack of the magazine INFORMER against Vanja Calovic, Executive Director of the NGO MANS in Montenegro.

Montenegrin public is familiar with the manipulations of the DPS and the brave act of Vanja Calovic with a clear message that they can not intimidate nor stop her, but this time again the media criminals act to set fire on the Montenegrin public displaying Vanja Calovic as a person ready to the most heinous behavior.

She is a true voice that speaks about Montenegrin reality while ruling elite does not have an argument to oppose MANS’s evidence, and for this reason with such an act Montenegrin politics is trying to make a clearance of those with whom does not disagree.

There is no place for irresponsible and inaccurate reporting about what does Vanja Calovic.

Such a fighter as Vanja Calovic is necessary and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegrin authorities should learn what it means the democratization of the community and not participation in a heinous behaviors toward human rights activists. While Montenegro’s politics is representing itself in the region as successful, by politics toward Calovic is proving that Montenegro is one in violation of human rights as well as all the countries in the region

This behavior is similar to the one that Montenegro have done in nineties, and even today has not accepted responsibility for the crimes committed on its behalf and on behalf of its citizens.

We sincerely hope that the issue of Vanja Calovic will be a matter of the region, because if there is no Vanja Calovic, the Montenegrin government will have a free hand to do whatever it wants on its own area.
