We call on the Minister to disclose all information on negotiations and explain to the public when he will submit claims for damages to the Chinese company.
The statement by the Minister of Transport that the Government will not approve additional payments for the construction of the highway is a transparent attempt of the strawman argument. The government must and is obliged to demand compensation for the destruction of the Tara River from that company, as well as funds for remediation of the area, which is under international protection.
In addition, the Government has the right and obligation to demand that CRBC pay penalties for the delay, because the workers of that company were allowed to come from China at the time of the peak of infection in that country. At the same time, the Government has not banned the construction works at any moment, thus the responsibility for the delay lies entirely on CRBC or its subcontractors.
Therefore, the Minister should explain when and how much money the state would collect, because any delay in the opening of this megalomaniacal project means delaying of revenues, while we need to start repaying the loan.
