Controversial businessman from Kola\u0161in, Zoran Be\u0107irovi\u0107, has so far missed every opportunity to give his perspective on business cooperation with the Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica, so even after the announcement of the lawsuit against MANS, we have no further information on what were the motives for \u20ac 140,000 land sale transaction between close friends, conducted through a scheme of companies.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Through its investigation, MANS has proved irrefutably that the President of the Supreme Court had violated the law by failing to report income from her business with Be\u0107irovi\u0107<\/a>. Entire investigation was conducted on the basis of publicly available and easily verifiable information, but also confirmed through official documentation provided by state institutions.<\/p>\n

What is still unknown are the motives for the sale of private property to a close friend not to be conducted directly, but through several companies, and to hide the entire business not only from the public of Montenegro, but above all from the competent authorities.<\/p>\n

These are questions that only Medenica and Be\u0107irovi\u0107 can answer, but they have not done it yet. Instead, Be\u0107irovi\u0107 announced a lawsuit against MANS to “defend his honour and reputation.”<\/p>\n

When it comes to other cases relating to Be\u0107irovi\u0107 that MANS has dealt with in the last ten years, he has not denied his involvement in any of them, nor have we had any reaction similar to the one we are witnessing now when the public saw a business scheme with the Supreme Court President Vesna Medenica.<\/p>\n

We see the announcement of the lawsuit primarily as the absence of arguments to deny anything from our investigation, but also as a sort of pressure to stop investigating suspicious affairs of Montenegrin state officials and businessmen related to them.<\/p>\n

However, unfortunately for Be\u0107irovi\u0107 and Medenica, such lawsuits have so far not prevented MANS from working even harder to uncover the hidden links between the state and controversial business operations, and this time it will be the same.<\/p>\n

We are once again reminding that Medenica is completely free to choose her close friends as she pleases, but it is unacceptable that as the president of the Supreme Court, by concealing business relations with them, she undermines citizens’ trust in the institution she is heading. It is of indisputable public interest for citizens to have full information about this, and any lawsuit for “violation of honour and reputation” cannot prevent it.<\/p>\n
