Today, MANS Investigative Centre submitted to the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SSPO) complete documentation that it obtained during an investigation of the controversial sale of close to 4,500 m2<\/sup> of land owned by the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ivan Brajovi\u0107<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The documentation obtained by MANS testifies to possible illegal activities of the President of the Parliament of Montenegro and confirms the suspicion that the business of selling the land served only as a cover for generating income of \u20ac150 thousand.<\/p>\n

The evidence provided by MANS to SSPO shows that Brajovi\u0107 sold the land well above its market price, as well as that the further investigation is necessary in order to determine more precisely what is the exact nature of relationship between Brajovi\u0107, the owner of the Free Energy company that served for this transaction, and Atlas Bank itself, which provided a loan in the amount of \u20ac150 thousand in order to realize this business.<\/p>\n

In addition to the initiative for preliminary proceedings that we sent to SSPO, all sales contracts concluded between the parties in this business transaction were submitted, as well as all valuation reports of Brajovi\u0107’s real estate, which show that it was sold at an unrealistically high price.<\/p>\n

Let us remind that earlier this year MANS submitted an initiative to the Agency for Prevention of Corruption (APC) because Ivan Brajovi\u0107 did not report the aforementioned income of \u20ac150 thousand. APC rejected this initiative by declaring itself non-competent to act in cases before 2016, when the institution did not exist. This is contrary to the decision of the Administrative Court, which already found that APC inherited the competencies and cases of the former Commission for Prevention of Conflict of Interest and that it must act in cases before 2016 as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

On the other hand, we believe that the SSPO already has sufficient evidence to make concrete moves in the case of Ivan Brajovi\u0107, and that two-year preliminary proceedings regarding a Revolving Card is an inappropriately long time.<\/p>\n

Any further delay in opening a full investigation into Brajovi\u0107 further undermines what little credibility SSPO had left, especially since it is one of the highest public offices in the country.<\/p>\n
