<\/a><\/p>\nDejan Milovac, the Deputy Executive Director of MANS, was questioned today in the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office upon the report filed against him by the Mayor of Podgorica, Ivan Vukovi\u0107.<\/p>\n
Vukovi\u0107’s report states that in the “To\u0161kovi\u0107i” case, the motive for the criminal report filed by MANS was political discrediting of the Mayor of Podgorica, and that Milovac did so with premeditation in order to harm him. From the very content of Vukovi\u0107’s report, it is clear to us that it was not aimed at any “correction of injustice” caused to him, but only to exert pressure in order to stop the investigative work of MANS.<\/p>\n
That this was a coordinated attack is also confirmed by the fact that the day before that hearing, the Chief Special Prosecutor, Milivoje Katni\u0107, attacked Milovac accusing MANS of not filing indictments and arresting the suspects.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Katni\u0107 attacks MANS for not doing his job, and when we file criminal charges and submit evidence, as in the case of Vukovi\u0107, then the State Prosecutor\u2019s Office rejects them, and interrogates us because we dared to detect corruption.<\/p>\n
The very State Prosecutor\u2019s Office had the only results in the fight against high corruption precisely in those cases that were reported by MANS. Thanks to our reports, Marovi\u0107, Pavi\u0107evi\u0107 and Kulja\u010da, who passed away in the meantime, were also convicted, while Mugo\u0161a is currently on trial. These reports were previously rejected or placed in a drawer by the prosecution, and activated only after obtaining political approval.<\/p>\n
Now, the State Prosecutor\u2019s Office is questioning Milovac because he reported the new mayor of Podgorica as well. Thus, in that case, the prosecution is questioning us because we have exposed what they were not allowed, did not want or were not able to do.<\/p>\n
While they are proving by this proceeding as well that they are acting on the political orders of the former regime, everyone knows that dismissals of the leading people in the prosecution are certain and justified. Therefore, we understand that these actions against MANS are only a part of the obvious frustration and despair of the outgoing staff of DPS prosecutors.<\/p>\n
We expect that the new prosecutors will reopen the case of Vukovi\u0107 and the like, but also investigate why the State Prosecutor\u2019s Office led by Katni\u0107 covered them up.<\/p>\n
