MANS and Allies Organize Variety of Actions Across Montenegro

(Podgorica, 22 April 2012) – In cooperation with a variety of NGOs, workers and students, MANS today organized public actions in 10 cities in which citizens sent messages to the government stating why they think it should step aside.

Among the main reasons for which the resignation of the government is being demanded were the bad and illegal privatization process, the links between the government and organized crime, the poor socio-economic situation, and because “we’ve hit rock bottom.”

Among messages sent to the government, citizens wrote that it “protects thieves and criminals,” “that it doesn’t work for the people,” “because of hunger,” “Mugiland” (referring to the mayor of Podgorica and his corrupt dealings),” “because it is high time for someone to finally do something for ordinary citizens,” “because we want changes,” “because of the Podgorization of Montenegro,” “because of Luksic’s socks, Vujica’s ties, etc,” “because of the unresolved assassinations.”

In spite of the poor weather conditions, the planned actions were realized and messages from all towns will be collated together and sent to Luksic and his ministers.

The towns in which actions were organized include: Podgorica, Cetinje, Danilovgrad, Bar, Kotor, Herceg Novi, Berane, Nikšić, Pljevlja, Žabljak.
