Only actors of the organized crime can be pleased with the results of the Montenegrin judiciary in combating organized crime, especially those at the very top of the scale. That is why the Prime Minister Duško Marković should have been much more cautious when expressing his content with what has been done in that field.
Let us remind that the only large cases of organized crime that have been prosecuted showed unacceptable incompetence, as well as serious suspicions in the corruption of the judiciary. The cases of Šaric and Kalić were concluded with acquittals and millions worth of damage that citizens are to pay. Therefore, we are quite sure that, in addition to the Prime Minister Marković, Šarić and Kalić are also satisfied with the efforts made in the fight against organized crime.
Bearing in mind the undeniable fact that there are dozens of unresolved murders in Montenegro which are the result of clashes of criminal clans, and that murders are regularly occurring on streets and squares of Montenegro in front of numerous citizens whose lives are also endangered, it is very impudent and hypocritical for the Prime Minister to express satisfaction and claim that the organised crime is on its knees as never before.
Finally, we once again point out that there is not a single serious organized crime case in Montenegro that ended with a final conviction, long-term prison sentence and the seizure of assets of actors of organized crime, which is the only criterion when it comes to the results in this field. Therefore, we once again leave it for the public to assess whether organized crime is really on its knees and who has reason to be satisfied with the results.
