One year after the first released footage of the Tara River devastation, MANS Network took a tour of representatives of the Montenegrin media to visit part of the construction site of the Bar-Boljare highway.
Tons of construction waste, generated by tunnel excavation, continue to be dumped into the Tara riverbed, despite recommendations from the European Parliament, the European Commission and UNESCO.
It is astonishing that the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MSDT) is an obvious destruction of the natural good, which belongs to all citizens, justice so-called. regulation of the riverbed, which would not be necessary without excess material, which is easiest for CRBC to unload on the banks of the Tara.

The Tara trough is filled with concrete and gravel, and its flow has partly changed. Due to the high temperatures, the watercourse is low, so this once powerful river has turned into a stream. The question is how long it will take to recover.
In addition, the fact that the CRBC on the Drcka River, the Tara tributaries, with the tacit support and consent of the institutions and in violation of the laws of Montenegro, opened a third illegal landfill, and that on the private property of the citizens of Mateševo, speaks enough about the relationship of the authorities to the citizens of Montenegro.
It is high time for the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MSDT) and other competent institutions to treat the protected area of Tara as it deserves, with full attention and respect for the laws of the state of Montenegro, with the full responsibility of those who devastate the area, which will – it is already clear now that there are enormous consequences.
